About Me

I received my Professional Transformational Life Coach certification in 2018 from the ICF accredited training company Leadership That Works. Their in-depth program includes Internal Family Systems (IFS) training for coaches and Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DEI) training.

Transformational coaching is holistic. While clients may want to address very specific issues, my approach is to expand the context - to embrace all relevant aspects of a person’s life story or river sutra; where they’ve come from and where they’re going.

Coaching Philosophy

“Essentially, all models are wrong, but some are useful.” - George Box

The models I use are those that have been the most helpful to me on my own path of growth and healing. I’ve found that they create significant, lasting change much faster than talk therapy alone. These methods are teachable - I emphasize skills transfer, which builds client self-awareness and empowerment. Most of the models are based on some form of Parts Work; the concept that our personalities are not monolithic, but rather that we naturally have an internal metropolis or multiverse of sub-personalities which are generally referred to as “parts”.

Terry Real, founder of Relational Life Therapy, tells clients…

“I am just like you, neither above or below you. If you come from a dysfunctional culture or family, so do I.” “Family pathology rolls from generation to generation like fire in the forest taking down everything in its path until one person, in one generation, has the courage to turn and face the flames. That person brings peace to their ancestors and spares the children that follow. I have a word for such a person. I call them a hero.”
